Thursday, May 16th, 2013, 6 pm-8 pm: Sandoval County Commission Meeting.

Friday, May 17th, 2013, 11:30 am-1 pm: Illuminating Engineering Society Meeting (IES).

Saturday, May 18th, 2013, 11:00 am-11:30 am: "Read To Your Dog" at Esther Bone Library. A wonderful treasure that we have in our city is our library system and the programs that are offered free of charge to adults and children. Tales of Joy is one such gem-although it is only a children's program. The Tales of Joy R.E.A.D.® program is a group of volunteer handlers and their dogs (registered therapy animals) who bring their dogs to our libraries once a month where children can read to a dog. The presence of a dog relaxes the children immediately and it doesn't take long to see their confidence rise, as these dogs are attentive listeners and never criticize or judge. Visit their website to find out more about this all-volunteer organization and view their annual data, reports, membership information and more. To find out more about when this is offered at each of our libraries, visit the web page for Loma Colorado Library or the Esther Bone Memorial Library and look under "Children's Programs".

More on Chamisa Hills Country Club

Many of you have come to me with questions about the Chamisa Hills Country Club. I hope that this note and link might help with some of those questions and concerns. Remember that Chamisa Hill Country Club is privately owned. It is not appropriate for the city to be taking charge of a privately owned property/business (this was sent to me by Daniel Poremba):

I decided to send you the Chamisa Hills Investment Package link since it is in the public domain already. It will give you some perspective on the turn-around strategy we are recommending to prospective buyers. We look forward to discussing this property with you on Tuesday. If all goes according to plan, I will be joined by my partner, Tom Mussallem, and by Matt Call who is the founding principal at both NavPoint Golf Group and NavPoint Real Estate Group. We team up with NavPoint on these types of complex disposition and turn-around assignments.
